Silvebow Center
This is the Silverbow Center, which used to be the Silverbow Club. Currently there are a variety of businesses in this Granite-Street building. It used to be a club for the rich to mingle.

Silverbow County Courthouse
This is part of the courthouse on Granite Street. I was to the side of the stair ledge, and that is what is showing on the bottom of the photo.

Refrigerator and Oven
This is a lovely old refrigerator and an oven in front of a window in the Owsley Block again. I could spend days photographing in that place! There was no light so I used a flashlight to shine in the light.

Old Window
This broken window is seen from the alley between Idaho and Washington Streets near the Mercury St. Intersection. It's broken and stuffed with material.

Snow-Covered Stairs
These stairs are just off of Main St. before you hit the "road closed" signs for construction of the bridge. The house is interesting looking. It seems to be abandoned and the paint is interesting.

St. James Arches
I've taken a photo of this building numberous times, from different points of view to different times of day. I added a green and orange color to this. It makes it look even more creepy. The open curtains at the top center makes it look like somebody was watching me while I was taking the photos....

Walking Park Street
This is the silhouettes of two people walking down Park Street, just after Walker's Casino (right next to Metals Bank).

St. Patrick's Church
This is St. Pat's Catholic Church on the corner of Mercury and Washington Streets. It's a beautiful church. I'd love to see the inside.

Owsley Block Interior
This is the interior of the Owsley block on East Park Street, above where Pablo's used to be. It used to be apartments, which is apperent by the random furniture and utinsels found in each room. The window light coming into the building was great, but I added some light with a flashlight. In the first photo you can see where I added some highlights with the flashlight on the railing and on the stairs below. The small version of the photo is the shot without the flashlight.
The TV shot below is lit solely with a flashlight, as there was no light in the room.
I have quite a few more photos of this building to post, and those will come soon.

Chinese New Years Parade
The Chinese New Years Parade in Butte is known as the shortest and loudest parade around. About 400 people (give or take) walked the streets of uptown Butte from the Courthouse to the Mai Wah Museum on Mercury Street. There were people banging pots and pans, a dragon and packages of fire crackers being lit off randomly on the streets.
At the end the Mai Wah lit off almost 50,000 fire crackers, so you can see why the two girls in the photo have their ears covered.

Metals Bank Panorama
I took a ton of photos in hopes of putting them together in a panorama. I stood on the corner of Park and Main Streets and shot off almost 1GB of photos with my 50mm lens. I shot the sidewalk in front of me, the street, the buildings, the sky.
I put them in an online program, PhotoSynth, and it wasn't able to stitch more than about 10 together. It's a pretty interesting program.
Here is the link to the panorama...You have to install the program which only takes a few minutes. Also, you cannot view it on a MAC. There are also a few other Synth's I put on there from other shoots.
Here's a small photo of the Metals Sign for people who don't have PC's:

Tripp and Dragstedt Apartmnts
This aparment building is on Main Street to the west of Butte High School. I took the photo around 5:20 when the sun was going down. That is my favorite time to take photos, especially in Butte. It adds a warm glow to the already orange brick and shows detail because of the side light. I'm glad the days are getting longer so I can do more shooting at this time of day.

The Napton and Van
This is the Napton on Granite Street. It's a beautiful building that seems still mostly abandoned. I was taking photos of the entrance when the van below parked in front of the building...It just seemed kind of strange/amusing to me that this nasty old van is parked in front of this building.

Paul Clark Home
This is the Paul Clark Home on Excelsior Street. It is also known as the McDonald's Family Place. It allows out-of-towners to stay in the home when their child is in the hospital.
William A. Clark donated the house in memory of his 14-year-old son Paul Clark.
The photos were taken at around 6 p.m. when the street lights were on but it wasn't too dark outside. I took a variety of compositions and couldn't decide between the two.

Old Hennessy Building Staircase
This is the stairway into the old Hennessy Building (same building Curley's Shoes is in on Granite and Main).
I have more to comment about and lots more photos to put up, but it is Super Bowl Sunday and the game is on!
Also, I still need to post the last two days of photos. They are stuck on a memory card with 700 photos from a wedding and it will take a long time to upload those, so those will be put up either late tonight or tomorrow morning.
